Job Description – Sales Manager

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Sales Manager will be responsible for actively generating club revenue while developing and motivating the sales staff. The Sales Manager will also oversee the Membership Accountant.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Manages the sales team and membership accountant (including: hiring, firing, and performance management issues)
  • Trains the sales team
  • Provides sales leadership to the sales team
  • Establishes, monitors and analyzes the sales budget
  • Sells memberships
  • Leads the corporate membership program
  • Develops and implements sales policies and procedures for department
  • Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Must be highly motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Selling skills
  • A comprehensive understanding of sales operations

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Must have experience in sales
  • Experience in a health club or the hospitability industry is preferred
  • College degree preferred
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
